WhatsApp Research Awards: Privacy Aware Program Analysis Request for Proposals

With the research "A deductive verification infrastructure for probabilistic program" Professor Joost-Pieter Katoen and Philipp Schroer could win the WhatsApp Research Grant.

More than 2 billion people use WhatsApp every month to communicate with friends or family. WhatsApp's goal is to connect people worldwide while protecting their privacy. To do this, the security of the code on which the app is based must be guaranteed. The WhatsApp Privacy Aware Program aims to build partnerships with experts in academia to solve program analysis research questions based on real-world privacy applications.

The RFP funded 6 global research institutes with an award of 50.000 Dollar each. In total, the RFP received 62 proposals from 52 universities and institutions.

Congratulations on this recognition!
