The Research Training Group “Ramp-up management – Development of decision models in production ramp-up” includes nine interdisciplinary departments. The aim of the group is to study a central research idea, which is to understand the production ramp-up as multidimensional, interdisciplinary and highly interdependent decision problem. Challenges in ramp-up management are to take a high number of interdependent decisions in a dynamic and interdisciplinary surrounding, as quickly as possible and with the best possible solution. The characteristic of this decision problem is determined on one side by the exceptionally high interdependence of the decisions to be taken and on the other side by the high time pressure and the continuously changing conditions of the production ramp-up.
