Promotion of the AI Service Center WestAI started

The focus of the project, which is funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF for short), is on providing technologies and services that support research institutions and companies in transferring AI models to their specific applications. WestAI combines the computing capacity and competence of RWTH Aachen University and 5 other partners.

WestAI is a consortium of RWTH Aachen University, the University of Bonn, Forschungszentrum Jülich, Fraunhofer IAIS and FIT, TU Dortmund University and the University of Paderborn. RWTH will contribute its expertise in high-performance computing and computer vision through the AI Center. The WestAI Service Center thus forms an important hub to close the gap between cutting-edge research in the field of AI and the needs of industry.
