Call for Proposals: Interdisciplinary Research in AI, Simulation and Data Science

29/04/2021

The ICT Profile Area, the JARA Center for Simulation and Data Science and the RWTH AI Center have initiated a call for research proposals on "AI, Simulation, and Data Science: Data-driven Methods for Real-world Challenges". RWTH Aachen University issued the call through the Exploratory Research Space (ERS) program, an RWTH-internal initiative aiming to foster original and interdisciplinary collaboration of scientists.

Together with JARA-CSD and the RWTH AI Center we seek to broaden the spectrum of traditional research conducted in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Data Science and Simulation Science and welcome proposals that address exploring at least two of the mentioned research areas in combination. Since these fields have previously been studied separately we hope to facilitate novel methods and connections in a promising research landscape.

We want to highlight that the topics of this call will potentially impact the research strategy and structure of RWTH Aachen with connections to many (if not all) other Profile Areas. The start of the Seed Fund Project is October 2021.

A comprehensive overview of the research conducted by the AI Center can be found here. Furthermore see the official call.
